History
Dispel doubts and bridge pedagogical gaps
October 1983 : Building from his education among engineer and management students at Dauphine and EDHEC, Nesim Fintz became aware of the reciprocal incomprehension facing the two populations: « They treat each other like ‘Professor Cuthbert Calculus‘ or with small-town mentalities. It is difficult to work intelligently. This is prejudicial to the performance of the companies that they will join! » . With this in mind, EISTI, Ecole Internationale des Sciences du Traitement de l'Information, was born. EISTI allows the « uselessly antagonist populations » to continue their studies in a schools with a curriculum based on the combination of social sciences, management, math, quantitative techniques and computer technology, subjects, that up to now, were each a distinct course of study. « The distinction between small-town mentalities or ‘Professor Cuthbert Calculus‘ is no longer present, the synthesis is complete… »
At the heart of the pedagogy: Scientific innovation
More than just engineers
1989: Only six years after its creation, EISTI became a state recognized private institution of higher education. This short delay for the recognition reinforced the relevance of the instruction and the notoriety of the school. All the more so as the graduating classes are hired in companies in the computer technology industry, from high tech to new technologies. « We are near 100% employment even before the students obtain their diploma. » The ‘Conseil Général du Val d'Oise’ rewarded the hard work of the school with a new site: 3000m² which allows the school to welcome the professors, administrative personnel and supply teachers as well as the 250 students. « This was the time to make an important choice. Thus, our entrance examination was developed with scientific preparatory classes in mind. EISTI exclusively trains engineers. Engineers with knowledge of management and social sciences. Both technicians and managers at the same time. This versatility is the strength of our graduates on today’s market. »
A recognized and appreciated diploma
1992: The ‘Commission des Titres’ authorised EISTI to confer the diploma of « Engineer » on its graduates. These engineers are sought after since their employment rate is very high. « Three months after obtaining their diploma, almost 100% of the graduates have obtained employment. In the worst years 1992/93 and 2002/03 85% of graduates found employment. Our classes of 140 students interest companies in search of talented people who are immediately operational. » In 2004 EISTI graduated its 2000th student engineer.
Since 2003 - A second campus at Pau
September 2003 : With support from the ‘Communauté d'Agglomération, du Conseil Général des Pyrénées Atlantiques’ and the ‘Conseil Régional d'Aquitaine‘ a 3000m² campus opened its doors in Pau. With the Director, Laurence Lamoulie, it welcomes 70 student engineers. A platform dedicated to digital imaging, a teaching and research centre are on site as well as a research laboratory thanks to a partnership with the University of Pau and the Pays d’Adour. The research laboratory was inaugurated in February 2005.
