Presentation
EISTI’s educational project is to train tomorrow’s engineers in an international and constantly changing environment.
Pedagogy:
Our teaching staff consists of 52 permanent professors. 90 % have a doctorate and have worked in business. They are part of 4 pedagogic departments with external contributors from both business and higher education.
Teaching is done in small groups with practical situations. The curriculum focuses on team projects. The student engineer, confronted with practical situations, uses technology which is found in a business context.
Courses alternate between lectures and practical work. The school has put into practice a system of tutelage where each student is monitored by a permanent professor.
Engineering cycle:
The engineering cycle lasts 3 years:
1st year: i.e. last undergraduate year / 3rd year of higher education
2nd year: i.e. first year of Master / 4th year of higher education
3rd year: i.e. second year of Master / 5th year of higher education
1st year engineering program
From September to June
The 1st year composed of two semesters of the curriculum is characterized by a strong core program in science and techniques (mathematics, computer science, and electronics) and also in management, humanities and languages.
At the end of this 1st year, the student chooses one of the two majors:
- Computer science engineering
- Mathematics engineering
2nd year engineering program
From September to June
The 2nd year composed of semesters 3 and 4 is dedicated to both the major and a core program.
During this 2nd year, the student perfects his mastery of the tools. He discovers new technologies and management methods. He acquires a know-how applied to multi-disciplinary projects.
20 % of the courses are linked to the chosen major. This major prepares the student to one of the 11 options of the 3rd year.
During the semester 4, the student has to choose an elective program depending on his major:
For computer science major, two elective programs are offered:
Information system management LIEN
Dedicated to 2 options:
Information system technology (lien)
Dedicated to 7 options:
- Engineering for intelligent systems,
- Software engineering,
- Engineering for complex information systems,
- Engineering for mobile information systems,
- infomecatronics
- Telecommunication
- Consulting and management
For mathematics major, three elective programs are offered:
Financial engineering (lien)
Dedicated to:
Industrial sciences (lien)
Dedicated to:
- Informatics for science and industry
Decision support (lien)
Dedicated to:
At the end of the 2nd year, student has to do a 20 week internship from June to October.
3rd year engineering program
From November to September
The 3rd and last year is composed of a semester courses (semester 5), from November to March, and a semester internship (semester 6), from April to September.
During the 5th semester, the student chooses an option depending on both his major and his elective program.
For computer science major, minor in: Information System Management, the options are:
- Business Intelligence
- Consulting and Management
For computer science major, minor in: Information System Technology, the options are :
- Engineering for intelligent systems,
- Software engineering,
- Engineering for complex information systems,
- Engineering for mobile information systems,
- Infomecatronics
- Telecommunication
- Consulting and management
For mathematics major, minor in Financial Engineering, the option offered is:
For mathematics major, minor in Informatics for science and industry, the option offered is:
- Informatics for science and industry
For mathematics major, minor in Decision support, the option offered is:
The “Diplôme d’Ingénieur” EISTI curriculum ends with a final project internship which takes place during the 6th semester and lasts at least 5 months, in France or abroad.
ENGLISH
The granting of the diploma is conditional on the student obtaining 750 on the TOEIC (Test Of English for International Communication).
