Certification ISO 9001 for the EISTI
In March 2010, after being audited for several months, the EISTI was awarded the Certification ISO 9001 by AFNOR. The school now joins a very select number of higher-education establishments which hold this world-renowned certificate for the training they offer.
This audit was more concerned by the procedures and methodologies involved in the training given by the school, rather than the pedagogical and scientific qualifications of the teaching and curriculum at the school, the latter already being evaluated for the Commission des Titres d’Ingénieur (CTI).
According to Nesim FINTZ, Director of the EISTI, this audit, lead by the experts from AFNOR, has required all of our service managers to be deeply involved. We had to formalize our procedures, to identify the areas which needed development, to be aware of our strengths and weaknesses. It’s been an exhaustive review of our knowledge. It has allowed us to analyse and evaluate all of our procedures – those to do with our pedagogy, research, logistics, IT systems, communication etc. In granting ways in which to optimize our efficiency, by bringing our tools for control and verification up-to-date, this certificate qualifies our know-how. The internal investigation needed to complete this audit perfectly complements the evaluation and certification the school receives from the CTI. This reinforces the trustworthiness and notoriety of the school on the international stage. This can only encourage students, French as well as international, to come and study here in order to benefit from training which not only has its pedagogical qualities evaluated by the CTI, but also is guaranteed to carry out its scientific and teaching missions well.
