From its very first days, the EISTI has had a huge international role, starting with a very cosmopolitan and international staff. More than a quarter of a century later, the international dimension is a priority in the development strategy of the EISTI.
An engineer of the 21st Century absolutely has to incorporate the international aspect, based on openness to languages, and effective work in multicultural teams, brought through work on projects within a globalized context.
The EISTI chose to be a big player in this global world by introducing classes in intercultural openness and communication in our curriculum. The learning of modern foreign languages is essential. As well as English (mandatory in all engineering studies), the EISTI offers languages such as German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin and Spanish. .
With geographical mobility being at the heart of internationalization, the EISTI is equally welcoming of international students as well as working to get experiences abroad for our ‘home’ students.
Events
The International Week
Each year, in November, the International Relations Office organizes a dedicated ‘International’ week, aiming to increase our students’ awareness of the usefulness of international mobility, as well as to equip them with skills to bring their own projects to fruition. Each year, one particular country is honored. Some photos from the 2010 International Week, honoring Mexico.
This event brings together academic partners who come to introduce their programs, business partners of the EISTI who set up workshops for interviews in English, and organizations who bring much information about the procedures to get a visa for specific countries or for VIE (Volontariat International Entreprise – International Business Programs). It is at the same time a warm moment, always very well received, bringing all the students together around a meal provided by the school.
International Conference
The 14th and 15th of June 2011, under the responsibility of one of our teacher-researchers, Rachid Chelouah, the EISTI is organizing an international conference on the theme: Swarm Intelligence. For all information, please consult the site: http://icsi11.eisti.fr/
Networks and International Programs
The EISTI is part of many networks and international programs.
Programs :

Erasmus
the EISTI is a member of the Erasmus Charter, including study trips and business internships. The Erasmus Program enables the geographical mobility of students, professors and administrative staff in 31 countries (the 27 European countries, plus Lichtenstein, Iceland, Norway and Turkey).

CREPUQ
(Conference des Recteurs et Principaux des Universités du Québec, a group of deans and principals of universities in Quebec), working together on French-Quebec exchanges. 14 universities in Quebec are members of this program.

Entrepreneurs en Afrique (EeA)
EeA (Entrepreneurs in Africa) is a technical-economic support program for business creators in Africa, and a program in which the EISTI takes part. The expertise from leading French engineering schools is put to use in accompanying young Africans in their projects for the creation of SME.
Through this, several students from the EISTI have played a part in the creation of businesses in Africa, supported by their project-managing teacher-researchers.
Networks :

Réseau n+i
promotion, foreign student recruitment, grants, integration programs. Every year, the EISTI welcomes international students through the n+I network.

CampusFrance
the EISTI is part of CampusFrance, in charge of promoting higher education in France as well as the Convention CEF (convention for Studies in France), introduced by the Foreign and European Ministry in order to facilitate the welcoming of foreign students.

Cergy University
the EISTI is a founding member of PRES Cergy University, bringing together the higher education establishments of Cergy for better international visibility.

EAIE
the EISTI is a member of the European Association for International Education, which organizes yearly meetings for its members, enabling everyone to meet and make new university partners, thusly increasing and improving their networks.

Le Cercle
the members of the EISTI’s alumni who work abroad have a precious role to play, and the International Relations Office puts a great importance on keeping in touch with them.
Meet-up in Montreal in March 2011 with a dozen Eistiens working there.
The EISTI is also part of working groups on the International Relations of the CGE (Conférence des Grandes Ecoles) and of the CDEFI (Conference des Directeurs des Ecoles Françaises d’Ingénieur).
In order to boost its international policies, the EISTI can make use of its network of university partners.
