A National Master’s Degree in « Quantitative Finance and Risk Management » at EISTI

EISTI is now able to offer a new pedagogical element, resolutely international: a Master’s Degree in "Quantitative Finance and Risk Management", which will open from September 2012 and be taught in English.

This Master draws on the recognized excellence of our engineering school in quantitative finance, and makes great use of the collaborations with the Universities of Paris-Dauphine and Cergy-Pontoise. In this, EISTI is becoming one of the very few engineering schools able to provide such an educational service in its own name, as a "Master’s" degree is traditionally reserved for Universities.

Objective

The Master offers a 3-skilled approach, in Computer Science, Mathematics and Finance.

Teaching

Fourteen external teachers (lecturers from universities, teacher-researchers, professors etc.), supported by a piloting committee, will bring together the training given in Cergy.

The number of hours is 1222 hours in total, with 455 in M1 and 667 in M2, and covers the whole chain of quantitative finance, from theoretical aspects to the application in a professional setting. The chain can be described as follows:

  • Description of the market and financial products
  • Mathematical models of finance
  • Mathematical models of risk
  • Numerical resolution: computer-aided simulation
  • Calibration and asset evaluation

The Master will end with a 22-week internship, to take place in France in one of the main enterprises in the field of BIM/Bancassurance.

The Master is primarily going to appeal to international students and those from our partner universities (a strong network, currently comprising 23 establishments in 19 countries, over 4 continents).
The tuition fees are €6,000 per year.
